The Last Tribute

The rising Sun’s golden glow,
The foam due to water’s flow,
The setting Sun’s reddish hue,
The night sky, oh! So inky blue-
Is all nothing without you!

Dogs break-lessly bark,
Cats mew in the dark,
Pigeons constantly coo,
Cows meekly moo,
'cause they miss you too!

I hoped to tell you someday soon,
Under the night sky’s full moon,
That I love you too,
For everything, "Thank you"!
But you are gone to never return to.

Your merry laughter,
I will hear never hereafter,
Haunts my heart day and night,
I try not to cry with all my might,
Hoping someday will be alright.

You suddenly left us all,
Less of grandpa and more of a pal,
You were truly a godsend,
I bide you a final farewell,
Goodbye, Grandpa, Goodbye..

My heart though shattered,
My near dreams battered,
Promise to fulfil your words,
Through deeds win this world,
Goodbye, Grandpa, Goodbye..

Written by my daughter Megha (10th Std), in memory of her grandfather who recently died suddenly
